Congratulations to chili cookoff winners
Dear Editor:
Congratulations to Robertson Banking Co., recently declared the Grand Chili Champion of Tuscaloosa. Astute and dedicated judges at the Exchange Club’s Eighth Annual Chili Cookoff on Feb. 8 determined — by blind sampling and using a rigid methodology — that Robertson produced the region’s best chili in 2014. Attendees voted Capstone Bank for Best Chili. Best Booth was by Bryant Conference Center; the Best Costume award went to Capstone Bank; and PNC Bank was the winner for Best Showmanship.

Exchange Club Chili Cookoffs combined have raised a total of $124,000 in the last eight years. All of the funds raised are devoted to the club’s charitable activities in the community, focusing on youth. For example, the club recently presented hundreds of teddy bears to area police departments and hospitals to provide comfort to traumatized children.
